We arrived in Blakeney in 1999 with high hopes and two small children; now we're all doing A levels and are very proud of what we have achieved with our straight forward cooking at The Moorings - how time flies!
We didn't set out to achieve rosettes, stars or ratings for ourselves or the restaurant but we do admit to being very proud of our listings in the very best food guides and all the other wonderful comments we receive! We do strive very hard to provide all our guests with wonderful, simply cooked, fresh and wherever possible, local food that we enjoy cooking.
We do all of this because we believe in our cooking and enjoy sharing it with our guests. We aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome, whether for a cappuccino and the morning papers, a lunchtime chowder and chatter with the family, or an 'outstanding' supper with friends.
Our menu is inspired by this beautiful part of the country and is inclined towards local fish and shellfish, often bought straight off the boats. In winter we are lucky to have the most wonderful local game whilst during the summer months, as much as possible, our vegetables, salad and herbs come from Angela's veg garden. We are renowned for our 'amazing' puddings and your only disappointment will be if you don't leave room for one!
We have a special evening menu for 'little people' offering real food, well behaved children are always welcome.
